WELCOME AND NOTICES
CALL TO WORSHIP:
Like life itself, faith is a journey,
a pilgrimage whose purpose is a constant walk with God.
When we participate in the Sacrament of Baptism,
we recall our growth in faith,
we look again at our pilgrimage experience,
and renew our commitment to following Jesus Christ.
Let us come now to worship, in word, song and Sacrament.
OPENING PRAYERS
HYMN: Amazing Grace (chosen by Jenny & Andrew)
Amazing Grace! how sweet the sound,
that saved someone like me!
I once was lost, but now am found,
was blind, but now I see.
As grace first taught my heart to fear,
so grace my fears relieved;
how precious did that grace appear,
the hour I first believed.
Through many dangers, toils and snares,
I have already come;
God’s grace has brought me safe thus far,
and grace will lead me home.
The Lord has promised good to me,
his word my hope secures;
he will my shield and portion be
as long as life endures. Arrangement © L F Bartlett (TIS)

THE SACRAMENT OF BAPTISM
Introduction
An Affirmation of Faith
We are not alone, We live in God’s world.
We believe in God: who has created and is creating,
who has come in Jesus, the Word made flesh,
to reconcile and make new,
who works in us and others by the Spirit.
We trust in God.
We are called to be the Church:
to celebrate God’s presence, to live with respect in Creation,
to love and serve others, to seek justice and resist evil,
to proclaim Jesus, crucified and risen,
our judge and our hope.
In life, in death, in life beyond death, God is with us.
We are not alone. Thanks be to God. AMEN.

A TIME OF QUIET
THE OFFERING & SUNG DEDICATION (Tune: Austria)
For the life that you have given,
for the love in Christ made known,
with these fruits of time and labour,
with these gifts that are your own:
here we offer, Lord, our praises;
heart and mind and strength we bring;
give us grace to love and serve you,
living what we pray and sing. © Hope Publishing (TIS)
PRAYERS OF THE PEOPLE & THE LORD’S PRAYER
HYMN: Eternal, Unchanging, We Sing (Tune: St Denio WOV 80)
Eternal, unchanging, we sing to your praise:
your mercies are endless, and righteous your ways;
your servants proclaim the renown of your name
who rules over all and is ever the same.
Again we rejoice in the world you have made,
your mighty creation in beauty arrayed,
we thank you for life, and we praise you for joy,
for love and for hope that no power can destroy.
We praise you for Jesus, our Saviour and Lord,
the might of his Spirit, the truth of his word,
his comfort in sorrow, compassion in pain,
the faith sure and steadfast that Jesus shall reign. © Emmanuel College(VU)
