WELCOME AND NOTICES

CALL TO WORSHIP:
You speak to my fears O Lord;
You offer no guarantees about the future of the world.
But you have assured me that my status as your beloved child is safe.

Whatever happens to my world, you will never let me go.
You have set me free from fear, and you will keep me safe.
You are my God, whatever happens to the world around me,
I will celebrate your love forever.

HYMN: To God be the Glory (WOV85)
To God be the Glory, great things He has done!
So loved he the world that he gave us his Son,
Who yielded his life an atonement for sin
And opened the life-gate that all may go in.
Praise the Lord! Praise the Lord!
Let the earth hear his voice!
Praise the Lord! Praise the Lord!
Let the people rejoice!
O come to the Father, through Jesus the Son,
And give him the glory! Great things he has done!

O perfect redemption, the purchase of blood,
To every believer the promise of God!
And every offender who truly believes,
The moment from Jesus a pardon receives.
Praise the Lord…

Great things he has taught us, great things he has done,
And great our rejoicing through Jesus the Son;
But purer, and higher, and greater will be
Our wonder, our rapture, when Jesus we see.
Praise the Lord…

SONG: One More Step
One more step along the world I go,
One more step along the world I go,
From the old things to the new
Keep me travelling along with you.
And it’s from the old I travel to the new
Keep me travelling along with you.

Round the corners of the world I turn
More and more about the world I learn,
All the new things that I see
You’ll be looking at along with me…

As I travel through the bad and good
Keep me travelling the way I should
Where I see no way to go,
You’ll be telling me the way I know…

Keep me singing when the road is rough,
Give me courage when the world is tough
Leap and laugh in all I do,
Keep me travelling along with you…

You are older than the world can be;
You are younger than the life in me.
Ever old and ever new,
Keep me travelling along with you…

SERMON: Fear to Faith

A TIME OF QUIET

HYMN: He Came Singing Love (WOV636)
He came singing love and he lived singing love;
He died, singing love. He arose in silence.
For the love to go on we must make it our song:
You and I be the singers.

He came singing faith and he lived singing faith;
He died, singing faith. He arose in silence.
For the faith to go on we must make it our song:
You and I be the singers.

He came singing hope and he lived singing hope;
He died, singing hope. He arose in silence.
For the hope to go on we must make it our song:
You and I be the singers.

He came singing peace and he lived singing peace;
He died, singing peace. He arose in silence.
For the peace to go on we must make it our song:
You and I be the singers. Colin Gibson

OFFERING:
Gracious and Loving God,
You are the creator and source of all that blesses us.
You call us to live lives where grace and generosity shine,
and where through our words and actions others may find hope renewed.
Bless now these gifts that we bring, that they may be a blessing in the lives of others, for we pray this in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. AMEN.

WE GREET ONE ANOTHER

PRAYERS OF THE PEOPLE:

HYMN: In Heavenly Love Abiding (WOV504)
In heavenly love abiding, no change my heart shall fear;
And safe is such confiding, for nothing changes here:
The storm may roar without me, my heart may low be laid;
But God is round about me, and can I be dismayed?

Wherever he may guide me no want shall turn me back,
My shepherd is beside me and nothing can I lack:
His wisdom ever waketh, his sight is never dim,
He know the way he taketh and I will walk with him.

Green pastures are before me, which yet I have not seen;
Bright skies will soon be o’er me where the dark clouds have been:
My hope I cannot measure, my path to life is free;
My Saviour has my treasure, and he will walk with me.

THE BLESSING & THREEFOLD AMEN
