The Sermon on the Mount – the Beatitudes
Children of God, it’s time to take off your shoes,
Step out of your comfort zone, and
Wade with trust into the stream of God’s mercy.
We come to be still for a moment, to gather in holy time and space.
Let the healing waters wash your heart.
Take a deep breath as Love soaks into your soul.
We come to know again that we belong,
We are treasured by God,
We are called to be beacons of hope and compassion.
Te Rongopai…
After worship we will be showing the first episode of the DVD Te Rongopai – 200 years of the Gospel in NZ. (about 15 mins) This episode deals with the first worship service at Oihi in the Bay of Islands in 1814 and the ensuing settlement there.
Lenten Conversations…
During Lent there is an opportunity to gather with others to grow in our connection with God and one another. We will gather every second week for 8 weeks (4 sessions of approx. 90 mins) for tea/coffee and a time to listen and converse with a focus theme. Focus themes are God, Compassion, Spiritual Practices, the Cross. High levels of Bible knowledge are not expected, and all sorts will be accepted and respected! If you want to get to know others at church and God better, log in to one of the groups (Monday evenings, Tuesday mornings, Wednesday afternoons) by signing the sheet on the back table or by sending Dugald a message (see contact details above)
Session Report
Office Space…. All the plumbing work has been completed and we now have to connect power and renovate the interior.
Worship Leaders…are organised through till August
Name Tags… Session asks that everyone wears a name tag at worship and is organising a board on which these can be stored. Name tags help us all identify each other. If you need a new name tag please talk with Sonya. (if you don’t know who she is, look at name tags!)
Rolls… We want to update our rolls and contact details. To this end we will be circulating an information form which we ask everyone to fill out. This will include name and contact details, an emergency contact, and whether you wish to be a full member, an associate member, or simply on the pastoral list.
Next breakfast at church….March 19th organised by the Session
Church Repairs….The detailed structural design for strengthening the church is almost complete. The architect will now complete architectural detailed design which will enable accurate costing to be completed. We expect all the information needed for the congregation to make a formal decision about engaging contractors to undertake the work to be available at the end of March.
